New Tales of Robin Hood – Performance Prompts
Choose one prompt for your performance (song, story, or poem):
Prompt 1: “The Disguise That Fooled No One”
Tell a humorous tale of Robin attempting a disguise so ridiculous that everyone recognizes him immediately – but they play along anyway. Perhaps he’s dressed as a baker, a monk, or a traveling tinker, and the townspeople help him succeed despite his obvious identity.
Prompt 2: “Robin Hood and the Potter”
A potter traveling to market refuses to pay Robin’s toll, claiming his wares are worth nothing. When Robin tests this claim by trying to sell the pottery himself in Nottingham town, he discovers the potter’s true skill – and wisdom.
Prompt 3: “Robin’s Bad Day”
Tell of a day when nothing went right for Robin Hood – his bow string snapped, he fell in a stream, and even the rabbits seemed to mock him. How did this terrible day turn into something good?
Prompt 4: “The Lost Child”
A frightened child wanders into Sherwood Forest calling for their mother. How do the fearsome outlaws become gentle protectors until the family is reunited?
Prompt 5: “The Merchant’s Dilemma”
A traveling merchant encounters Robin Hood on the forest road. But this merchant has a secret that changes everything—perhaps they’re not as wealthy as they appear, or they’re carrying something more precious than gold. What moral choice must Robin make?
Performances will be judged on creativity, entertainment value, and how well they capture the spirit of the Robin Hood legends while adding something new to the tale.
